धुआंधार जलप्रपात
Dhuandhar Waterfalls
The roaring waters of the sacred Narmada river plunge 30 meters down through narrow marble gorges, creating a breathtaking cascade of smoky mist ("Dhuan"). A ropeway cable car offers a bird-eye view of the spectacle.
संगमरमर की चट्टानें, भेड़ाघाट
Marble Rocks of Bhedaghat
Towering magnesium limestone cliffs rising over 100 feet on either side of the crystal-clear Narmada river. Famous for sunset and moonlit boat rides where the marble changes hues from pure white to pink and pale blue.
चौंसठ योगिनी मंदिर
Chausath Yogini Temple
One of the four major extant 64-Yogini temples in India. Perched atop a hillock overlooking the Narmada, this 10th-century Kalachuri temple features a hypaethral circular courtyard housing 64 intricately carved yogini idols around a central shrine to Shiva and Parvati.
मदन महल किला
Madan Mahal Fort
An ancient Gondwana fortress perched precariously on a monolithic granite boulder. Built in the 11th century by Gond ruler Raja Madan Singh, this military watchtower played a key role during Queen Rani Durgavati’s valiant resistance.
बैलेंसिंग रॉक
Balancing Rock
A miraculous geological formation where an enormous volcanic rock balances on the tip of another boulder with a contact area of merely a few square inches. Amazingly, it survived the severe 1997 Jabalpur earthquake (6.0 magnitude) without shifting.
ग्वारीघाट माँ नर्मदा महा आरती
Gwarighat Narmada Maha Aarti
The spiritual nerve center of Jabalpur. Every evening as dusk sets in, thousands assemble along Uma Ghat to witness the synchronized waving of multi-tiered brass oil lamps, accompanied by chants, conch blowing, and thousands of floating leaf diyas adrift on the holy Narmada.
